Low Maintenance Relaxation Garden
The Brief
Due to the clients restrictive movements, the new garden required to be constructed on the same level as the back patio door and have little to no maintenance on the plants.
The Style
Due to the low maintenance requirement, all areas of grass were eliminated and primarily replaced with paving with circular patterns incorporated into the design. In terms of planting, very low maintenance and evergreen plants were chosen. The planting used:
- Trees – Amelanchier Rainbow Pillar & Bamboo for screen back wall
- Ferns – Boston Fern
- Shade ground cover -Creeping ivy and Hellebores
- Low Maintenance Filler Plants – Silver Spear (Astelia Nervosa) and Pheasant’s Tail (Carex Testacea)
